Why decide against staggered?

Why decide against staggered?

I am a new G35 owner that has been looking for wheels / tires the last couple of weeks. I am primarily looking at used and have been amazed at the number of owners that have purchased aftermarket wheels and have not gone with a staggered fitment. I am curious why? Is lack of knowledge? Is it cheaper? Laziness? What is your opinion?

all four the same = tire rotation front to rear and side to side

or.....possibly you just might be looking for reasons to go with the non staggered setup you might be looking at getting? haha...my opinion is, if you see someone with non staggered wheels, why does that bother you? you got your new ride - do what you please!

I have wondered this too. I have a coupe and have heard that going non-staggered changes the handling...

It does, but nothing that you can't either adjust and/or adapt to. It doesn't perform worse or better, just different. There are so many variables that just the idea of "going square" doesn't mean things will change significantly to either ends of the spectrum.

It's almost akin to running different tire pressures.

To answer the OP, some people stick with the square setup for practicality. I've seen some spend upwards of $3000 on their setup, so i highly doubt it's due to cost. I see no reason how laziness has anything to do with it, nor why it could be considered lack of knowledge.

FTR, i run square, DD the car and track it at times.
