New brake pad and rotors?

I need new front brake pads and rotors. i have a 5AT coupe. im at 52000 miles so im passed my brake warranty, so now the dealer wants like 600 for new front rotors and pads. anybody have any suggestions.

I would like to get a good set of pads and rotors, but not spend that kind of money. and is it easy to change them yourself? does anybody know of any diy guides.

btw, i tried searching for this, but didnt come up with anything.
thanks in advance

Re: New brake pad and rotors?

I know on my other car, I just opted to put PowerSlot slotted rotors, and HPS Brake Pads. I got a Pair of 11" slotted rotors for like $179, and the shoes were $48 for the set. Replacing the shoes and rotors, literally only took me like 15 minutes per side. As a side note, the pair of slotted rotors was cheaper than what the dealer wanted for just ONE OEM rotor.

I just looked up StopTech rotors, and the model for the G35 is like $218 for a pair of slotted rotors and $238 for a pair of Slotted and Cross Drilled.
