That is a tall tire at 28.58".
Is this something that you are looking to run on the street or just the track?
What kind of power are you making?

I would say that if you want to run Nitto's you should probably step down to an 18, otherwise look into another DOT drag radial.

What kind of track racing, 1/4 mile or autocross? Nice numbers, but IMHO I would run track dedicated tires (if you really want to have fun) and street tires for the weekend trips.

I have run DOT DR's before and they do not last long. I only ran them to and from the track (20 miles) and at the track. You are better having two sets of tires.
The way I see it having tried the DOT radial, there is no reason to run mediocre tires at the track if you have a car than can perform, and there is no reason to run track tires on the street.

I have yet to hear anyone say the dyno they run on reads "normal" or "high" everyone runs on a heartbreaker

I run 305mm wide tires on my car and i have seen several others do the same so it is possible.

wont matter as long as 305mm fit you can raise your car to clear a taller tire (to an extent)providing you have coil overs.

True as far as width goes. If you are lifting your car up to fit a tall wheel/tire combo I think that starts getting close to a donk
305/35/20 is going to be a super meaty tire, but then again if he has the power to put that much tire to good use, why not
