Tire Size

Hi Guys i recently bought 20 in. rims for my 2006 g35 coupe

I was wondering if you guys could help me with tire Dimensions?
I have talked to a tire specialist and he told me to go with
(235/30/20)in the front and (275/30/20) in the rear

But im confused because i see alot of guys put (.../35/20) in the front and (.../30/20) in the rear

What would be better 30sidewalls all around or 35 in front and 30 in rear
and are there any pros cons to either, and what would be the difference

Thanks for all your help guys appreciate it !!!!!!!!

The 235's are a tad narrower than we usually recommend. A 245/30-20 front and 275/30-20 would work also. The 35 and 30 is a tire's profile which helps make up its overall diameter. That number is a percentage of the tires width as well. So you won't always have the same profile number front to back as the widths are different. If you use the 235's make sure it's an extra load tire so you have enough load carrying capacity.

A 245/30-20 front and 275/30-20 rear is what we recommend. In a sport summer only tire I'd look at the Hankook V12's and Conti DW, in a sport all season Michelins Pilot Sport AS+ and Conti DWS are the two options.

I'd go 245/35 not 30.

The 30 profile up front is pretty damn small, and will be noticeably smaller when on the vehicle.

That would make the front tire same diameter as the rears which is a no no for VDC to work properly.

Yes, the SAME.

That is very ideal for VDC... That set up does not and never will casue VDC issues.

In terms of how bad a 245/30 looks, I would much rather have the front a couple mm larger than the rear than a full inch smaller.

The ideal stagger would be 235/35 and 275/30 being a near perfect match and a hair larger out back and since he didn't mention widths there is no reason a 235 is too thin.

So if I do 30 in front ill have problems with vdc so I'm better off going with 245/35/20 in front and 275/30/20 in back, will this look good also

No no, if you do a 30 in the front you won't have VDC issues. But it will look substantially smaller than the rear (nearly an inch in overall diameter) if that's the look you're after than go for it, but I prefer even tire sizes which would be a 245/35 or 235/35
All preferance though, all tire sizes we've mentioned WILL work.

oh ok i think i understand now, so if i put 35 in the front and 30 in the back the diameter will even out and look the same, as for 30 in front and back it will make the front look smaller than the rear, if i put 35 i will have a problem with vdc or not im still confused onthat part???? I appreciate all the help guys thanks

Yes and no haha.

Even with the 245/35 up front you still won't have an issue with VDC. I know that from personal experience on multiple 350z and G35s I have mounted tires on.
