Locking Lugs for Volks

I just got a set of Volk SF Winnings for my coupe and want to protect them. I've been looking around for locking lugs but don't know which ones to choose.

There are cheap McGuard and Gorilla lugs, but I don't know if they'll work on the Volks.

Also for a reasonable price there are some Kyokugens but they only come in black and are open on both ends. Not interested in these because I think they'd look like cr@p on my nice Mercury Silver wheels.

There are the more expensive Rays which are seven sided and similar to the Kyougens but only come in black, red and blue.

I'd like some nice chrome locking lugs that will work with the Volks.

Any one with Volks want to tell me what they're using?

Volks don't have special locking lugs. any will do, as long as they are the right size (M12x1.25)

i have McGuard. just because they are "inexpensive", doesn't mean they suck. they work, what more do you want?

they weigh 36 grams.

i've read that kyokugen and mutegi (?) lugs suck. They strip fairly easily. rays/volk are nice, but their wheel locks can set you back $70.

Performance Nissan has the slim McGard locks for $36 which looks like a good deal. I was reading the brochure for the wheels and they mention that the taper on the lug nut has to be 60 degrees, so I wanted to make sure I got the right ones.

I don't expect the locks to be fool-proof, if someone wants the wheels they're going to do what ever it takes. I just want to give them a deterrent and hopefully they'll move on to an easier target.

I sent an email to Performance Nissan so hopefully they'll let me know if the McGards will work with the Volks.

Gizmo - post some pics of your ride! What sizes/offsets did you get? I'm still waiting on mine! (about half way there - been waiting for a month and a 1/2)

Hey bzabodyn,
I saw that you had some Volks on order. I probably won't be putting my wheels on until spring. Got plenty of ice around so I'll be keeping my snow tires on for a while.
I bought the wheels used from a guy over at MY350Z.com. The offsets that he got were pretty close to stock. Here's the specs:

Volks SF-Winnings 19" 8.5/9.5 +25/+29 offsets
Mercury Silver
Bridgestone S-O3 245/35/19 275/35/19

If I get some time in the next week or so and the weather warms up a bit, I could swap out the tires on one side and snap a few shots, but don't expect me to freeze my butt off washing the thing in the snow LOL!
