Question Tire Size Question

Hey guys, buying new tires for my 2010 g37 vert. The OEM tires are 225/50/R18 in front and 245/45/R18 rear. I want to buy Fierce Instinct ZR tires but they dont have a matching size for the front tires. My question is, can I replace the front tires with 225/40/R18? The back tires would match OEM at 245/45/R18. Not sure if performance or aesthetics would be effected by changing the front from 225/50 to 225/40. I think it would just be a lower profile tire, but not sure if it will look stupid or effect performance.

I choose the Fierce Instinct XR because the Mavis Discount Tire site shows that these are the best in class (all season - uhp), and it fits my budget of less than $200 per tire. Link below

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks

A 225/40/18 is quite a bit shorter than a 225/50/18. Don't go down to a 225/40/18.

That would make your VDC go crazy as well as look rediculous unless you were slammed and dropped the rear size to a 245/40

Agreed. That's too short for the car and will more than likely throw off the VDC.
