2005 sport suspension question?

Okay I did a search but could not find reasonable answer. Is the 2005 sedan with the sport suspension that much of a real difference compared to 2003 sport suspension? Will it cause any problems with the 2003's 17's? Is it worth upgrading to it while still trying to keep it feel stock. Thank you.

PM Gsedan35. He's test driven a '05 with the new sports suspension. He's a really good resource when it comes to cars and especially suspensions.

From the dealer it would not be worth it. Probably more than $500 total for all the necessary parts. Best to just wait till '05 owners upgrade and sell their stock pieces on the boards.

Save your money. The springs and shocks are no different for 05. The sway bars did change according to Infiniti however. Your best upgrade given what you've said, it to install Tokico D-specs.

So to get my facts straight the 2005 Sedan Sports Suspension did not change but the 2005 Coupe 6MT DID get a revised sports suspension ( ie. shocks, struts, springs)? Is that right?

Correct. Meaning any 05 coupe with the sport suspension option, 6mt coupes of course get the sport suspeinion standard.

So based on your test drive and experience, would it be worth it for a Sedan w/sports supsension owner to upgrade to a '05 Coupe 6MT sports suspension considering the cost was cheap?

Yes, providing you'd be happy with a 1/2" drop. It does NOT have the ill effects I get on my oem 2003 350Z suspension, the bounce and porposing on the freeway. The trade off is a bit less compression damping showing up in turn in performance that is not quite as good, but for livability, it's a fair trade. But what worries me is used prices being unrealistic and all too close to just buying Koni's or D-specs and oem 350Z springs (would get you a 1" drop too).

i think it is because the 19" wheel make the gap 1/2" less then 03 or 04
i don't think there is any drop at all!

If a sedan owner installs a oem coupe suspension on his car, he will lower his car 1/2" If he install's a oem 350Z suspension, it will lower the sedan 1".

I actually took a tape measure to the dealer when went to drive the 05 coupe sport suspension and measured ride heights. Their is no differance in ride height between a coupe with or without the sport suspension.

So stiffen the ride on the 2005 sedan MT, should coupe sport springs and Koni's work well? I really do not want a drop that will effect alignment. I drive mucho miles every year (over 30K). I do feel body roll and the steering feel is lighter than the my 03 coupe. I simply want a susoension that will up the handling and not feel like the Tien Flex AND not drop the car to where alignment is an issue. Easy, right.

Possibly springs with a different rate than those of past years, revalved shocks and struts, and thicker front and rear sways.
