Tire height on 19" Rays
I tried searching and I couldn't find the exact answer to my question...
I have 19" OEM Rays. On the back I have 245x40's now. My car isn't lowered or anything but I can't figure out if I should run 265x35 or 265x40? I figured the 265x40 since I'm only changing the width, and if I run the 35's it would have a large gap.
I'm not entirely sure though how this works..

If you read the above posts (just a few above ), you'll see the consensus is a 275/35/19 is a huge *** tire for an 8.5" wheel.

Yes, technically it will fit but street tires that wide are designed for a minimum wheel width of 9" from the manufacturers. The sidewalls will probably bulge, the rear end will feel more loose since the wheel will be allowed to "float" more, and I'm curious to know the chances of an oversized tire coming off the wheel if it were to go flat. Its easy, just buy a tire that fits.
