hmm. I'd go with a higher profile tire. middle number of tire size. (40)
that Is a low profile and you will feel the road more than you may want too. maybe 50 is best.
also a wider tire means more rolling resistance which means less mpg.

235/40 is a good size I think 235/50 will look horrible I run 275 40 square and my ride is pretty nice before I switched to 275 I ran 245 40 square and I was lowered on springs an never rubbed or had any issues I also had the 18in 7 spoke

I would use either 235/45-18 or 245/45-18.

Perfect size for your 18X8" rims and -30 offset, 245/40X18. You'll have plenty of traction and you're sedan should handle very well. Only buy tires with a UTQG between 300 and 400 no higher....Gary

Michael, checkout the Tire Rack and ask them what tires they recommend....you'd still have a better ride without speedometer error with the 245/45s!

I run 245/40r18 on my 06 sedan. Speedo does read a little fast though, almost a 10% error according to the radar road signs. Although the signs may be incorrect too.

Think you meant + Gary!

UTQG is actually pretty silly now, no two companies use the same method to measure tread wear. So the tread wear ratings only work inside of one manufacture of tire. For instance Bridgestone's TW of 300 could be the same as BFGs TW of 340.

It's stupid I know, but they have no way to regulate it.
