Best Tires for Colder Months in WA

I drive a 2006 G35 with sport suspension. I have stock 19" Rays, and am trying to make a full set of Hankooks V12's for it during Mid Spring to Mid Fall. And have bought a 2nd set of rims for the flip side of year to run tires for colder, wetter weather.

My priorities are 1) Wet/Cold Performance, 2) Dry Performance, 3)Life Expectancy, 4)Road Noise.

I really do not like the Hankooks in Rain here, doesn't seem to bite.

My driving environment here has Hills...hills...and more hills. Lots of rain, and awkward negative slopes in corners. Where when your cornering, its not banked like a race track, and banking is downward on the outside.

I here the Continentals DSW's are good, or the Supersports. The salesman at Discount said the new Pirelli's are superb.

Just need more info from actual G drivers.

BTW, what RIM is this?

I need a 4th one, the 2nd set I bought was a 3 wheel set, 4th was destroyed. Looks like a 350z rim, but when I look for it, is hard to find that style.

That looks like a G35 coupe 18 inch rim with Nissan center cap to me. They do come up from time to time in the private marketplace here, but it's harder to find a single rim for sale. There are some really resourceful members here that might be able to point you the right way.

I have continental dsw's on my coupe for the winter in NJ. They are a pretty good compromise between rain/snow/tread wear. Those were the things I was really concerned with when buying my set. Tire rack has a pretty good review up.

If you didn't want a full blood snow tire, I would use the Conti DWS. Those are the best type of tire for what you're describing, using the oe sizes.

Why are you recommending those tires? Have you used them in the past?

Yeah, I dont think I need full blown snow tires. No snow at all this year, and last year only had it for about 2 weeks. Rest was just cold weather, and rain.

I want to have these tires on From October to March, and than swap rims with the summer tires on.

Yeah, I am having a tough time just finding 1 wheel, it is a 18" G35 Rim. But it looks just like a silver color, not hyper nor chrome.

I sell skids of them!

I had Michelin XI2s on my car last season and they were champs, the XI3 is no different. The Blizaks I've installed on multiple family members vehicles without a single complaint (and I drive a few of those vehicles on a regular basis)

But if you barely deal with snow, just pick a nice all season. DWS are great, another favorite of mine are Bridgestone RE760s and they're priced pretty well.

I'm runningng the General AS-03s on my G8GT. I'm from Seattle. They have been great to me. Not as stiff as a performance summer (they are an A/S tire) but they have been great in the dry and more importantly the wet.

I've run the Michelin pilot A/S, sport pilots and RE050s for reference sake.

So, I have a question than. Since we have Neal from Tire Rack here, do they do deals for us members? Shipping discounts or coupons, or mounting prices?

And About the wheels, any ideas of where to look for the 4th one?
