Nail in Tire ... Am I screwed?
Hey guys, I ran over a nail today and just wanted some opinions on whether it can be patched and what the odds are that it may not have even punctured all the way through. Of course I literally just bought these tires 3 weeks ago!
If it isn't leaking now, odds are that it won't leak when you pull it out (famous last words). If it does leak, you are probably hosed...shops will not patch side wall punctures, only those through the tread area.
I can't believe a member would post something like this, don't they have any automotive knowledge or common sense?
Take it to a tire shop, they'll submerge in water and look for leaks. If it does leak they won't patch it in that area! You're not the first one this happened to, nor the last...sadly!

No one will patch a sidewall.

There the 2nd set I've bought so I'm happy with them! Reasonably priced and good traction.
