Thanks, they that they dont recommend that I powder coat it. Instead I should get it painted at a bodyshop??? He said that it would take alot of work to mask it and it wouldnt come out right. Ive heard of people that have powder coated their rims and they came out nice. Has anyone here powder coated their rims? How did it come out? Also does anyone else know a place in Los angeles to powder coat rims? Thanks

Well, I recently had powdercoating done and it outgassed in a few places. It would have come out better painted and UV cured. Plus, they insisted it be clear coated, as Powdercoat will fade quickly without it. I also wanted alot of polishing done and they didnt want to do it. I regret messing with it. There are much better powdercoat shops out there that will do all this, but none near me.

this is sparkle silver with a clear.. Up close, its sparkle.. but pretty dull at a distance

see

its silver.. but doesnt reflect like paint (on mine)

Btw, there's a guy that took the time (and money) to powdercoat & polish the lip of his 350Z track wheels. They are HOT. He used a Stardust Silver and I couldnt see a clear from his pics. I'd give you a link (in the wheels/tires section, no more than a few days old), but I think my350z is still down.

I used Sparkle Silver. I think thats a standard Eastman coating. If youre going with a Silver or Gunmetal, I suggest taking a sample outside on a sunny day. If youre going for darker colors, I think thats a bit easier to get the shade you want.

look at the link under the larger pic I posted above. That silver, on my car, on my wheels, ended up alittle gray at a distance.

scroll down alittle on this page to see some colors

I think those are Eastwood colors, really common, but they may carry lots of other brands. And hopefully some samples.
