need tire size recommendations for 10.5" rear wheel

Hello.

Right now I have 295/35-19 Yokohama AVS tires on a 10.5" Volk GTC at the rear. However, there are fellow g's here running 275's width tires on a 10.5" at the rear and would like your opinions regarding wheel lip safety, looks and overall satisfaction. Pictures would also help too!

I was very happy with the 295 rears... the tire width is flush with the wheel and the combo is perfect imho!

Thank you!

what's the offset on those wheels? i think you should just keep the 295.. 275 will look a bit stretched having the rim stick out more than the tire. do you have any more pictures?

I forgot the offsets on these.. I'll post them once I check out the tags on the wheels.

Extra pictures:

I would love to keep these yoko's however they're very bald, pricey and I didn't like the performance. I need to switch out my tires asap!

10.5" = 266.7 mm... the 275's will still fit okay, but rim protection will be very
minimal if at all. The tire will look a tad pulled.

As a reference, Im running 10" and there is some wheel protection with the 275/35/19 S03's.

I would recommend the BFG KDW2's in 255/35 front and 285/35 rear - I will be running these on 9.5/10.5 Volks as soon as tomorrow, hopefully!

When you get your new shoes installed, post up pics of them. I was considering the same BFG sizes but not really much of a KDW2 fan.

I'll be running 19x9.5 & 19x10.5 and seriously considering the Bridgestone RE050A 255/35/19 & 275/35/19 now. There won't be much lip protection with the 275s for the rear but as long I have some rubber width on the fronts, I think it should be fine WRT protection.

Any issues on rubbing when dropped?

i had major rubbing issues... however, i have read 275's shouldn't rub at all, although i am not too sure if the cars were dropped or not.

once the camber has been spec'ed out to factory settings, i am probably sure that dropped cars with 275 will have to roll out the fenders. if someone can come and clarifly, please do!

bzabodyn, thanks for the recommendation! i will look into those.

keep the recommendations coming!

oh and accordfreak, my rears are +24 offset. I am not sure about the front offset.

i think 275's are too small for a 10.5" wheel. definitely keep the 295s!

Just wondering, are you still having major rubbing issues or was that solved by rolling the fenders? and what didn't you like about the performance? was it the tire itself or the size?
