Guys.. be VERY CAREFUL buying 350z suspension!!

Here's the story.. I bought some (what I thought was) 2005 350Z suspension for the G from a guy on the my350z forums. The guy seemed honest enough, and would always return emails. He said the suspension had 100 miles on it. Anyways, I receive the suspension via UPS and it looks really used up.. so then I checked the part #s against the 05 suspension part numbers and this was old 03 crap. Needless to say, I was EXTREMELY pissed off... So I wrote the guy an email explaining how this is NOT what I bought and what he was going to do about it. Well, he never wrote back to that email, nor even read it, so I wrote him another in an attempt to get him to reply.. He hasn't read that one either. He did logon as it showed him as recently as 3am last night.

He also had created a thread asking for people's old suspension, regardless of age, so he could make a quick buck. This is my fault for not researching and trusting the guy.

Unfortunately, it looks like I'm out $320 dollars, but for the rest of you, be VERY careful with buying 350z suspension from someone that looks too good to be true.

I used paypal, but they say that you cannot refute it because it was a difference of product or some crap so they won't even investigate a claim. I did a transfer into my bank account from paypal, so I don't know if I will be able to do anything on that front either.

Can you report it as fraud? Have paypal freeze their account?

paypal has been totally unhelpful with this since it wasn't an "ebay" purchase. I guess I'm out the money with not much else I can do but swallow it. Sigh

Sorry to hear about this.

I'd report this to the area law enforcement that you purchased this stuff from. Hopefully there will be shipping information confirming who he is. Possible this guy has done this before and if so you could put more pressure on him.

Also report him to the forum admins over there. Hopefully they can black ball him.

Unfortunately you're not the first that I've heard having problems with paypal. It's always advisable to do the larger transactions with a credit card so you can get more protection through your cc company.

Save all your emails and report this as mail fraud.

Just curious, what's his handle on that forum? I backed out of a deal on some other parts from guy on that forum because it seems a little suspicious. I'm just wondering if it's the same guy.

You have to report him to the Admins over at my350z and let us know his screen name.

his username on there is DWILLZ. I'm just upset that I trusted him, because I've been battle tested with buying stuff and I'm usually much more thorough with buying stuff. Oh well.... I guess it is a lesson for all of us.
