Help! Need DIY for spring installation

Does anyone know if there is a DIY here (or anywhere else on the net) for a spring installation for our cars? I am planning on doing it tomorrow and want to make sure I don't mess anything up.

I tried searching, but with no luck.

Thanks

I think Gsedan35 put together a real comprehensive DIY. You should PM or search with his name. He is the "Spring-Master"

Hope it helps.

buy some cotter pins if you don't have any (2pcs needed, maybe not if you're
lucky).

Thanks a lot for the DIY's. Pics will be up tomorrow, if I don't break something along the way... Wish me luck!

BTW, what are the "cotter pins."

On your front sus, where the knuckle meets the a-arm, there is a nut you remove
to collapse the a-arms in order to remove the strut. Before you remove the nut
you need to remove a metal pin that is attached to prevent the nut from backing
out.

If you're lucky the stock one won't break off while removing. my case, it broke off.

I am so angry right now.

I attempted the install with my buddy last night, and it turns out that the spring compressor I had was TOO LARGE. Not only could I barely get it into the wheel, but one I found the appropriate angle to get it in, I couldn't get all four mounting points onto the spring.

I am going to have to get a different spring compressor today and try again, but the DIY made the rest of the process EXTREMELY easy. I can't believe I paid shops to do this with my past cars...

You can just rent one from Autozone if you have one near you.
