Pics of 275/40/18 pilots on stock 18 rims
Some time ago a few of you asked to see pictures of how this size fit on the stock sport rims. Here are some close up shots. Note minimal beveling and a full look in the fenderwell. Wheels spacers would help a little more to change the offset but this combo worked well for me. I used the stock rear 245/45/18 from the rear for the front tires also making for a more pleasing beefy look in the front wheel well.
The speedo is fine for any of wondering as the stock rear diameter is the same as before.
Have a look and tell me what you think. I also just did a very coll dual Cat back exhaust system and it sounds HOT!! I described in some DaveO/Ted threads in mods.
Have a good one guys!

Re: Pics of 275/40/18 pilots on stock 18 rims
see .. this would be even less beveling with a 275 30 series tire ... I wonder if thats do able??? I dont think so
I know they have a 285/30/18 though ..but I think that may produce the same results ... I woujld like the least amount of bevelling out.
I may do that ... if I black chrome my stock 18s
later

Hey DallyCurtis
Here is another shot for you. There is some makers of 30 series, the best way to see them all is to use the TIRE RACK size charts with all the different high perf. tires they sell. I bookmarked them for easy ref. The diameter is a bit short of stock if you take a lower profile tire. I guess there is no easy way to have the look and the big tire unless you spend the money on the rims to match. My GF who owns the car is only keeping it for a year so she doesnt want to spend a bunch on rims then give it away and besides, she really likes the sport rim. Let me know how you make out, I hope another pic comes through here now, I have had some trouble doing this.
Have a good one.

Looks very nice. Can you tell me if they have improved traction and if so, how much? I'm particularly interested in the car's ability to launch.
Thanks.

Hey Juicedcoupe,
I cant tell if traction is improved as I made the change the first day we had the car and it was raining so no hard launches had been tried. I had the dual exhaust built and installed last week and the mid and high end power and response is definitely up.The car will spin the 275's on dry smooth asphalt about 60 feet when launching at 3500 then full throttle on the rev limiter before hitting second at redline. It hooks up really well in my opinion, as there is two more inches of rubber on the road.
hope this helps.
