Need help identifying suspension part

Guys (and girls)

I need help identifying a part on the front suspension. This part is on both front right and left and it is located beneath the brake discs. It is connected to the steering rack and covered with a black rubber boot. I think its purpose is to connect the steering arms to the actual wheel. The steering arms push or pull on this part to make the wheels turn. I don't think its part of the lower control arm. This part is squeaking and because of my extensive suspension modification, I don't think it will be warrantied. It doesn't look like an expensive part and I don't think it's labor-intensive to replace. My plan was to have a suspension shop replace it and get the part from Performance Nissan, but I need to correctly indentify it first. Thanks in advance.

Are you talking about the steering rod?

I think so, but this part is what connects the steering rod to the hub. It has a black rubber boot around it.

It's always better to take a picture with your finger on the part to be identified rather than trying to describe components.
