Finish on 20's not up to par

After less than 100 miles after I got my 20" ADR Sterlings, I decided to clean them. The wheels are chrome, but use a new technique that is supposedly environmentally friendly.

Here's the problem I encountered. I applied carnuba wax to the rims after washing them, which was recommended by Wheel Max's instructions. When wiping off the wax, I noticed the cloth getting "stuck" on several tiny, pin sized holes, or chips.

All four rims seem to have these, and it is worse in the front.
I see two possible scenarios:

1. The tiny pits were factory blemishes not even noticeable, and I shouldn't worry at all.

2. The faux-chrome poopy environmental finish sucks donky ******* and will continue to become more pitted until they look like a puffer fish that got pumped full of buckshot.

Wheel Max wants me to bring the car by, as I live near the warehouse in Vegas. I wanted to get some input before I listen to their pathetic story about how this is somehow normal.

Uh-oh...another Wheelmax/ADR "less-than-perfect" story....

Dare we say a pattern is emerging? Nah...too early still (I hope).

I don't know how many times I've said this - but, you get what you pay for...the reason ADR uses that process is b/c it's not just "envrionmental" friendly, it's also COST friendly...

In any event, good luck and I hope everything straightens out...

Well, I'll just skull crack them and bury them in the desert if they don't do what I want. Just kidding, but that's what I want to do to them. And just what do you mean you get what you pay for|? I paid $2500 for those rims and tires which is not cheap. Everyone isn't as rich as you are buddy. Rims should not cost $5000 alone

Really? But they look damn good.

Why do you say ADR's are crap? Not calling BS, just need some facts so I can believe you.

VQ35DETT - Why are they crap? I'm calling you out. If they are that bad and the finish will get worse, I'm going to get my money back. The problem I described is very, very minor. Let me know why you feel this way.

basicall what he said. there not like that but most of them are. if that is what you want to pay for rims then get those rims but if you want to spend some more money and get what you pay for i would go another route. so basically imo i would NOT get ADR wheels. I will admit some look nice but i do not want to hassle with the finishes and play my luck.

sorry for pissing some of you guys off,

Re: Finish on 20's not up to par

I think I must have exaggerated the "problem" I'm having with the rims. The finish is not at all crap. The small imperfections are not the chrome coming off. They are just excess chrome, and not a reason to stay away from ADR as far as I'm concerned.

Yes, the finish isn't perfect, but I'd say it is 98%. The 2 percent of imperfections are microscopic, and still make them a very good deal (so long as the chrome doesn't come off, which I really doubt will happen.

Don't worry about "clearing the name" of ADR wheels. The more people who think they're crap, the less chance I have of seeing a G35 that has the exact same wheels
