Will 305/25-20" or 315/25-20" tires fit rear?
Will 305/25-20" or 315/25-20" tires fit rear?
I have searched the forum and even though I seem to remember someone talking about 305mm wide tires in the rear for the coupe I cant find the thread. Does anyone have this setup? What is the widest that one can go in the back?
I've used some of the tire calculators on the web and while the overall diameter will be within 1/2" or so I am not sure that the suspension or body can accomodate that kind of width (rubbing?)
I currently have 275/30's in the back which i plan on changing...
Thanks in advance

Are you kidding? I am no tire expert, but the widest I saw on this board was 285 in the rear. You most likely need to roll your fenders or something else to make it fit. I think your title is making some ppl think you're crazy going that wide. Again, I'm no tire expert.
I have 20x11 inch lowenharts with 305/25/20 tires. My car is droped and dosn't rub. I took out the rubber lining inside the fender and had the fenders flared out. The rear of the car looks great the wide tires set it off. The only problem is that you have to be careful they pop easily.

I agree that the wider tires make the car look a lot more muscular. The overall diameter is slightly smaller however...
Sorry about all the questions. Thanks. Any PICS?

So what was the general consesus, will they fit?
I thinking of buying
19x9.5 front with 275/30YR 19
19x10.5 rear with 315/25YR 19
The factory tires are ~28mm per inch in regards to width.
This setup would be 30mm per inch in the rear and 28.9 on the front, so the tires wouldn't look as stretched as the factory ones do.
The total hight is of concern in regards to fitment as well as ride quality.
The factory wheels are
572.6mm tall on the front.
580.6mm tall on the rear
The proposed ones would be
561.1 on the front
561.35 on the rear
I am thinking that the shorter overall height will help prevent the car from rubbing, but you will feel the bumps more because of the fact that the side walls are shorter. The widest tire I can find in a 35 series is 285 so the widest rim I could use to still not look stretched would be 10 bet perferibly 9.5

285 is the max youve seen? pff ive had 305/25/20 on a 20x10 with +3et and on tein s-tecs and they fit with no problem or rubbing issues, ofcouse i had my fenders flared out about 1.5 inches but i felt like i could of still gone wider.
my next set up im doing 345/25/20 on k3's 20x11 with +5 et on megan coilovers dropped about 1.3 inches. the wheels should come in by the end of this week

I ran a 285/30/19 up front with a 305/30/19 rear setup for over a year on 19x10+20 and 19x11+23. Camber was a touch aggressive for street but nice for track. Just a roll front and rear, no rub issues ever. When I get back in the game I am looking at going 295/front and 325/rear and no I do not have the power to take advantage of it so hate'away!
