Dustless Brake Pads for 05 non-Brembo Coupe

I'm trying to figure out which pads to get for my 05 Coupe. I want low dust, duh, but they are hard to find as the calipers on the 05's are different than all previous years. Even OEM pads are hard to find.

Anyone have a part number for Hawk or Nismo pads and experience with how they work? Noisey? Lowest dust?

Thanks!

Ask for the 03-04 M45 pad shape. Part number from most manufacturers have an "888" in them. Low dust is not a priority for me however so I can't offer any advice there.

hmmm...I'll look into that. My understanding is that the pads for the 05 and 06 are the same - but bigger than all the previous non-Brembo's.

The FMSI ref # is D888 for the fronts.

FMSI? Friction Materials Standards Institute or a product? Sorry - not familiar otherwise.

I would like to replace the OE pads with a more aggressive pad for the track. Well, I'm not sure I need to as I just replaced the OE fronts and rears this past weekend. The pads had nearly 19,000 miles on them (two track days) and were not even close to needing replacement. I did anyway because I am heading back to the tracks this month, why risk it. If I could change anything from OE, it would be the rotors. But no one makes rotors for the 05's yet.

During my last track day (Autobahn, Joliet IL) I got brake shudder. While it was not bad, I am sure another track day would make it worse. My point is the OE pads work very well and last quite long on the 05's - with nearly no dust. I bought four front rotors, two rear rotors, two sets of rear pads and three sets of front pads from everythingg35.com. I figure this will last me until next year and by then I hope to be tracking a different car.

Yep, the standards insitute. Any brake pad manufacturer should be able to figure out what you want if you give them the FMSI ref #.
