How many miles on stock 19" tires?

Hi,

I was just wondering how many miles do you guys have on your stock 19", assuming that the car is still running smoove and there is no need to change the tires.

I have 14K, but the dealership is telling me that I need two new tires. I went to an outside wheel shop, got my tires checked out, they said that I didn't need any new tires, that my wear was fine and I still had treads.

One last question, when the car shakes a little at high speed, does this mean that most likely its the tires that are at fault? I really don't rage on my tires that often btw. I'm a decent driver most of the time.

Did you check yourself to see if your tires are down to the wear bars (2mm)?

My rear tires lasted almost 30K miles, of course I drive very conserative (no burn outs or aggresive turns). I think the dealership tries to upgrade some people to buy tires sooner than actually needed. They pulled the same trix on me as well.

If your car shaking at high speeds, try having your tires re-balanced first (usually only about $40).

Thanks guys, I'm gonna bring my car into another dealership to see what they could do. I will get it rebalanced as C-Keith stated, that makes more since then having to buy all brand new tires. I think its more then just the tires though, cause my car sounds kinda funny and kinda sux that the dealership ain't tryin their best to resolve this issue.

I'm just now replacing my rears before winter hits. I have 38,000 on them. It's been a dry year here so I hadn't noticed how much tread had worn until i slid around during the last rain. I'm pleasantly surprised with my treadware.
