I used the AVID H4S on my Hyundai Sonata before I traded it in and my girlfriend uses the same tires on her Chevy Malibu. I'm considering the V4S (same tire, higher speed rating) on my G35x but I'm a little worried about what happens if I get a flat since these tires are directional. I'm wondering if I can keep the stock non-directional tire on the spare as long as I don't drive fast or very much.

I bought a set of the Avid V4s's for my '04 sedan 6mt. They were certainly not my first choice, but having a wife and two baby girls gets kinda expensive sometimes!. As a rain tire I'd say they do the job well but when I wail on them on Redwood Road (very twisty) they wail back and can get kinda squirley. The grip is actually pretty good (predictable) but they do need to be heated up quite a bit more than the GSD's that came stock on the car. Daily driver wise I'd say good choice. I plan to swap them out in the summer though for some real summer rubber and save the V4S's for the rainy season.
