Ordered my new wheels/tires today.

From Tirerack. I am getting the Kosei K1 TS Grey in 18x8 40mm (16.5lb each!!!!!) semi-forged with the same procedure Volk uses. Also got the Goodyear F1 GS-D3 tires in 245x45x18. I am gonna be a sticky sedan when I need traction! They may not be the staggered or big offset deep wheel dish look some of you like. But I wanted performance and handling so I needed to keep the same tire/wheel size all around to do this properly.

No one else on these forums has done this combo, I am going to be the first .

So lets calculate a few things here....

Stock 48-49lb each with tires.

My first aftermarket set 53-54 lb with tires.

New set 43-44lb with tires.

So yes I am loosing a lot of weight! (The right type of weight), now if I could only do the same for myself! hahha.

very spartan looking wheels. i personally prefer a little more bling (LE37T) - but it will look great on a black G. post pics!

Why not 245/40/18 for the front if you wanted the same width front and rear?

Nice Russ. Just a note. Your tires weigh 29lbs each. So 16.5+29=45.5 lbs. Still lightweight though!

Thanks. Since every scale is different I plan to weigh my stock ones and then the new ones after that on the same scale to really tell how much a difference it really changed.

245x40x18 and 245x45x18 are basically the same width, just the height is different. I rather go larger than smaller so my wheel well gap doesn't look so big!

Just curious why you didn't pick lighter tires? (is this a balance between cost vs. traction?) Does the PS2 have any real competition in dry traction & weight combined?

Well, I wanted a real good performance tire, one of the best. And usually with such a good tire you have to add the weight because of how strong the tire has to be.

I could have gotten some Continental Sport 2 which are the lightest tire of the bunch at arouund 26lb but there ratings are not that great.

Wow! I can't believe those wheels are that light.

I'm getting Volk Progressive Spoke wheels in 18" for my next ride and they're just around 18 lbs.

Nice choice.

Post up pics when you get them. They would be a first for me also. Looks like it would be decent though. Had no idea your 1st setup weighed that much.
