2003 coupe drivers window

I was driving home last night and my drivers side window was halfway down. I went to put it up and when I pushed the button to bring it up, it went down a few inches and stopped. Then I pushed "up" again, and it went completely down and stayed. its not coming up and i can hear a clicking or ticking sound when i push the button to bring it up. any advice or anyone had this happen before?

The only time the regulator needs replaced really is if the cables are fraying. FSM shows the areas where you can re-apply grease to make the regulator glide correctly again. If the reset fails and you need to replace the motor just inspect the regualtor for fraying. Re-grease if needed.

They're pointing to moving parts of the regulator.

Remove the door panel and take out the motor. You can remove the shaft from the motor and clean out all of the debris and carbon buildup and put a light layer of grease on the ends of the shaft only and then reinstall. Be careful when reinstalling it that you don't accidentally force the shaft into the motor and grind down the rounded quarter magnets that line the side of the housing. This really isn't too hard to do if you already know how to get your door panel off and makes all the world of difference.

You'll be amazed at how much gunk gets built up in those motors over time... especially if you roll your windows down all the time to enjoy the VQ exhaust note(like moia!!)
