Dreaded clicking noise...dangerous?

Hi everyone. I've read a lot about the dreaded clicking noise coming from the rear when shifting in reverse.

I have a 2006 g35 coupe (auto) and this clicking noise is happening. It's the worse when I shift in reverse and then shift from reverse back into drive. I also hear this noise when I'm at a stop position and start moving.

I know this is a known issue with the axles but I was wondering if this is dangerous. I bought this car used so I haven't had chance to go to Nissan to check it out but would this be a safety issue or just an annoyance.

I'm located in vancouver bc Canada so not sure if they will even fix this due to the age of the car etc

Thanks

It's more of an annoyance. But any mechanical issue that is not addressed can cause issues. The fix is them basically removing it, cleaning it and adding more grease. It's happened twice on mine. When I bought it at 45k and now again at 90k

They will fix it. But you're looking at $$$ if done by infinti. Save some money and have it done by a cheaper shop or try it youself.

You don't really want to pay what the Stealership wants to service our cars, check with Nissan their mechanics are better trained and they charge (as a rule) 30% less! An independent shop is your other option, it does need to be fixed...Gary
