cigarette lighter not working

So I was using one of those power inverter things you can connect laptops into then it stops working.
I tried other stuff and the cigarette lighter isnt working.
I checked the fuse box near the clutch where the labeled cigarette lighter fuse is located and its NOT blown.

What else could be wrong?
Another fuse? Blown wire?

Car is a 2007 G35s 6MT...still under warranty so I could just take it to the stealer but its an hour away and its an easy fix i'd prefer to do it.

thanks all

Are you sure it's not working? Some of these plugs are funky and don't make contact properly...

But if you're sure, it's probably the contact in the back loose... but for that you'd have to remove the shifter trim to get to it. It's not hard, but if you're not comfortable with it I'd just give it to the dealer.

i'd take it to the dealer, but you might not want to mention you were using the power converter thing in the cigarette lighter plug as the manual cautions you not to do that. and apparently you can't use the cigarette lighter element in any other plug than that one. ???

I've blown a fuse using one before. check all the fuses (maybe you pulled the wrong one) or check the relays under the hood, there might be one for the inside acc. power supply

i think that's why the manual says don't do that. laptops drain a lot of power, more power than the little socket has...

Mine just went out too last week

I only had my phone charger (Blackberry) in it at the time...Both receptacles are definately out. No time to take it to the dealer yet, I thought I would look on here first before getting it serviced.

I think they only work when the car is on.

anyone have a diagram they can post? im not at work the next two days and dont have access to mitchell on demand to look up the diagram. i guess the 08s might not have a diagram in the inside fuse box panel. mine dont work but seems like all fuses have continuity with a volt meter

If both the accessory plugs are not working and the fuses are not blown I would check the relay for interior accessories in the fus box under the hood.

had the same problem, used a phone charger and i think it pushed something in. Now I have to hold the cig lighter down until it is hot. It will not stay in by itself.

My cig lighter wont stay depressed. It will heat up but I have to manually hold it down. Annoying, but the couple of times I've wanted to use it for a social cigarette with some friends it's never worked.
