Question Prospective G35Driver - High Mileage 2nd Gen G35X

Hi everyone, I've been in the market for an 07-08 G35X and was wondering about the overall reliability of the car, particularly when it comes to big ticket items. I'd like to know from you guys with over 100k miles whether or not you've experienced any issues with the following:

engine
automatic transmission
transfer case
differential

or any other components that were expensive to fix. I'm planning to a find a car with comprehensive maintenance records, but I've heard that these cars can go through transmissions / transfer cases when the mileage climbs over 100k.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Having the car over a year and putting about 12k miles on it i haven't encountered any problems. I changed the trans fluids, and other than that I haven't had any problems.
170k and still going!

Not to scare you off, but make sure you get an oil pressure test done on any car before you buy it. There is a low probability, but an extremely high repair cost associated with the failure of the rear timing cover oil gallery gaskets in these cars. Easily detected before it becomes symptomatic with a simple pressure test.

Thanks for the quick responses guys! These cars seem to be very solid indeed.

How common or rare are these issues? I wasn't able to find a thread that had some statistical analysis of this problem.

Nice, how long have you owned it for? Do you know if the previous owner(s) performed any major repairs?

Thanks

My G35xS just hit 107k yesterday. No engine, tranny, or AWD transfer case problems. Just a pre-cat 02 sensor failure which is a cheap fix. Like any car, regular maintenance will treat you well. These Nissan VQ series engines have been around for a long time and have more than proven their longevity and durability. ONLY thing is these high rev versions in our cars (shared with our Z brethren) do get a more than reasonable build up of carbon in the throttle bodies after awhile. youll know when they are past needing cleaned with mild hesitation and small shutters at idle. Nothing serious, just don't like my car running less than her best

good info, anyone know if there's a write up or a place where I can find info on how to fix it myself? I'm competent at tearing into engines, I just haven't found much info in my brief searches
