New to G Coupe

I have been rocking a 6speed Miata for a few years as a daily. While I love the handling dynamics of that car especially with 200tw tires but with me being 6ft 1 it was getting a tad bit claustrophobic. So I just picked up an 03 black on black on plastidip black Coupe with 80k miles. Only had the car for a few days and so far really been liking it. It is much more comfortable on longer rides than my miata is. Bought the car knowing the passenger window was having issues but this forum has already saved me a few bucks by reading on what I need to due to rectify the only real issue this car has atm.

Glad to see you searched. Nice stock G. There is a recommended mods page for the Coupe, and many members here swear by upgraded sway bars. If you enjoy the miata's cornering ability this should be your first G upgrade.

Welcome to the club.

Let's see some bike pics!

Thanks for the warm welcome. And its funny you mention sways. From the limited reading of various forums and random youtube stuffs sways seem to come up quite a bit. Def something I will more than likely look at in the future. Thanks for the suggestion.

And for the record I love bikes but I doubt I have the skills you have on the two wheeled beasts. Maybe one day.

A few Bike shots...

Nice bike. Hope you find mods you like. If it's really cheap, it's probably not for your car though!

Sold it a few months back, looking for a KTM RC 390 Cup at the moment. I want to learn to carry more corner speed and the KTM will force that.

It's pre set up to track too so easy approval for a small sport class.

I test rode one at a KTM track day event and I was hooked. Just can't get off the throttle though haha.

Looking through the pictures now it looks like you need some floor mats!

You can't really see it in the overexposed pic but yes I could use a set of mats. The drivers side has quite a bit of heel wear. Just in the week I've had the car with the help of forum searches I was able to source a passenger window motor and swapped it out. Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The swap went pretty smoothly.

Before I get sways though I think I'm going to do what I can to get the car up to snuff with all appropriate fluid changes. Probably spend some money and do the oil and filter, Tranny and diff fluid and probably drain and replace the coolant. I noticed that when the car is cold and has sat overnight on occasion during startup I get a belt squealing for a few secs. Looking at old service records the belts are only about 15k miles old and the AC Idler pulley was replaced as well. So I need to track down whether its the belts a idler pulley or just tighten them slightly.

With 80k miles on the clock now it probably wouldn't hurt to consider swapping out the struts and shocks. I know atm both Monroe and KYB are running rebates so might be a good time to do that as well. That way I know everything is freshed up and up to snuff. I will be doing some searching the next few days what route to go to maintain a somewhat stockish ride with strut and shock replacement. So its safe to say much time will be spent reading, reading, reading.
