Raceland Coilover Problem

Hello, I recently purchased and installed raceland coilovers on my 2006 G35 Coupe. After adjusting the coilover to be 1.5" lower, there is no change in the ride height of the car. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Thanks in advance.

thats not really an option for a 17 year old kid with a part time job. i havent seen anyone else with this problem. raceland gets a lot of hate but the people who actually have them seem to like them.

gotta pay to play, if you cant afford it then dont try. sorry for being a dick, not sorry.
i learned the hard way that these cars are expensive to own and maintain. so just leave it stock if you cant afford to mess with it correctly

do you have to pull out the springs for the full body coilovers because when i got them installed they are still in place i think that is why they arnt going lower

G35 Coupe
don't listen to that guy, he's throwing the "gotta pay to play" card after buying an 04 high mileage car....ok guy

Here's the best advice your going to get on here about technical questions, ie. suspension, drivetrain, etc.:
Don't ask them here and certainly not in the general media share section, you will get worthless and often hugely erroneous advice, go to my350z.com instead

In your particular case, go to my350z.com, then the suspension section, make a new thread, and include pictures with specifics on what you are trying to do and what's not working.

good luck and have fun

I figured out the problem, when I got them installed the mechanic didn't take off the stock springs so it was just sitting on them and not lowering after I took them out it rides 10x better and its lowered but, my brakes started to make a weird noise only when rolling but after I would apply them it would go away. It's more of a grinding sound then a high pitched noise

Here's a couple pieces of advice.
1) learn to work on your own car. You're 17. Learn it now before you have like a real life to take away from car time. coilover installation is one of the easiest mods to do (albeit time consuming) because you're literally just removing a part and putting a part back in it's place. But, that goes for everything. Our cars are fairly straightforward.
2) NEVER EVER EVER EVER ask TECH questions on this forum. This is how it always goes.
-Hey. I have a thing broken on my car. How do I fix that thing?
-Have you bought the most expensive version of that thing? No? Do that. Then it'll fix itself.
-Hey. My car is broken. How do I fix it?
-buy a 335i
LITERALLY every technical discussion on here for the last 4 years. lol
3) If you're hearing a grinding when driving but it goes away when you apply the brakes, it's PROBABLY your pads and rotors. You can actually stick your hand onto the rotor (after they've cooled down) and feel it. If it's feels like there's ridges or it's grooved, change them. If it feels extremely smoove, then you should remove the wheel and check pad depth (unless you have a guage that you can do that through the wheel. They're about $.83 cents at Autozone).

Hope that helps.

Exactly. Leaving the oem spring with a true coilover set up is just plain negligent and/or ignorant.

And he is gone.... 1 questions and PEACE OUT.....If the mechanic really installed the stock springs.. NEVER EVER EVER got back to him... That is a absolute moronic thing. Thats like not tightening the lug nuts or putting oil BACK into the car..... Anywho. Glad you figured it out! On a side not I would personally ditch those coils. I have seen MANY of then snapped... Springs popped... As a 17 year old You can figure out a lot on this car!!!! Its really a very easy car to work on! Coils are 6 bolts up front and 6 in the back per side. I can have a set done in 3 hours. But I am 27 and have been working on cars since I was 14..... I have done multiple coils on cars and the 350/g35 i one of the easiest! Hardest was my Speed3 or my VW's... Or my Audi those are a pain... You can do a lot of the things yourself! Heck instead of buying 3-500 dollar sets of coils you could have bought an 800 dollar set and installed them yourself!

i wouldn't call them a mechanic then..lol
if the noise goes away sounds like it might be the brake shield rubbing. i think i had that same issue right after i got mine lowered...
