DigitalWheelz 2.0, Pics Inside!

I just recieved in the parts for the DigitalWheelz revision 2.0 screen housing frame. Now before you get too excited, I still haven't recieved in a couple of the other parts so they won't be available until I get the rest of the housing parts in. I don't know when exactly this will be, its up to my suppliers who are already overdue, but hopefully should be within the next month.

The pictures of it installed you see are using the 1.0 housing and the 2.0 frame.

The pictures also show the frame much more white then it actually is cause I used a flash to take them and don't do it justice. The frame is actually very very close to the other aluminum accents. I'll try and take some better non-flash pictures once I have daylight again.

The best part though is now the frame fits both the screen and the car perfectly and it looks really stock! The screen is not covered by the frame at all and now gives you the full viewing area! Unless you actually know what the stock one is suppose to look like I doubt you'll find anyone who will think its not.

Everything also came together just as designed and is really easy to assemble so there will be an assemble yourself version and I will offer a few upgrade frames from version 1.0 to 2.0. Upgrading should be really simple and took me less then a half hour to do to my own car.

If your interested in anything, and you haven't sent an e-mail already, send an e-mail to admin@digitalwheelz.com and request to be added to the mailing list.

I still haven't started selling the revision 2.0 housings. The only thing yet to be delivered is a longer display cable that the new design requires. Once that happens, the housings will go on sale again.

I am not taking deposits, but filling initial demand shouldn't be a problem and unless you request some special options with the order they should be available for immediate shipment after they go on sale.

Will the new design fit both the 03/04? the 05? both?

Is pricing expected to be the same?

Possibly... I'm still considering paint options. The aluminum parts currently have a clear matte anodized finish on it which is not quite as glossy as the other aluminum accents in the g35. I'm probably going to clear coat them by default so they will match the existing aluminum parts. The clear coat will make it harder to repaint it though.

At a minimum, if I do clear coat them, I will be sure to offer the frame unpainted, which should make it easy to paint any color you want with simple spray paint.

I may offer black as an option too, but if I do, there will be a two week wait time associated with it.

The new design will only fit the 03/04, but I will be porting it to the 05 soon.

My costs went up significantly to get the additional custom parts cut and final pricing of the revision 2.0 housings will be $100 more then the revision 1.0 housing.

Installation into the new housing is fairly simple and I will offer the parts alone for sale for people who already have xenarc screens.

I don't currently plan on offering assembly unless your buying the screen and housing together.

chuck, can i get the upgraded housing for the screen or do I need all the parts? I did notice the smaller viewing space on the 1.0 screens with the larger aluminum surrounding frame but accepted that Joey, Ross and Rachel's heads (from Friends) be slightly chopped off in some scenes....lol.

PM me on pricing...I'll be your beta tester again.....lol

The displays I will offer assembled will be based on the xenarc 700v and the xenarc 700TSV models. http://www.xenarc.com/product/index-monitor.html

The screen housing will also work with the 700Y model, but it is not something that I currently plan to stock and offer assembled.
