I see he already had negative i-Trader feedback that would have been 1 red flag and those wheels dont look like they would fit a coupe you can tell they have minimal offset likely negative offset. Its crappy when someone misleads you and worse when it costs large sums of money. Do you have pictures on your car so we can see how bad it is.

No offense but you can tell that they are for a wide body set up, that large of lips with that off set it's obvious. But maybe i have just looked at so many wheels that i can tell by looking.

Small claims is less than $5000. Hence the name, small claims. I'm writing because I've had this happen to me. The only way to reach an amicable solution was filing the claim. They "get smart" real quick when they get that certified letter with the court date and their copy of the claim against them.
Do not modify the wheels in any way if you wish to reach a resolution. That's like buying a spruce tree, finding out the person really sold you a maple tree, and chopping down the tree instead of having them remove the tree and being able to resell the maple tree. You'd essentially be damaging his property and he would be able to file a counterclaim against you for doing so when you win your case.

in his original post on his sedan you do realize he had widened the fenders in the front and rear correct? so it would make sense if they stuck out on stock body.. fyi
