Post Upgrading 06 bluetooth mic.

So I decided to take apart the bluetooth assembly this evening.. See attached pics.

It was really easy -- so now I just need to find a new microphone.

Probably going to head to radio shack or a local electronics store tomorrow to see what I can replace it with..

Will let you know if I get this dumb thing working any better.

Cheers,
Brian

Is the problems stemming from the microphone itself? Or just the volume? I'd like to know the outcome, g/l

So just got back and hooked up a 3.50 special from Radio Shack.

Routed the mic so it is hanging out and pointing at me, but seems to be about the same. :P

What can I do to get more volume? I could get a mic that adds gain, but then you get into using a battery and how do you deal with turning it off and on..

Any theories would be apperciated and I'll be happy to try..

wouldn't you only need a battery if the voltage/amps required for the gain exceed what the wiring provides?

btw, this is a great idea. the awesome thing would be to find a noise cancelling mic that is plug and play with the wiring... i think that would help TREMENDOUSLY

I'm assuming the clarity problem is coming from lack of consistant volume?

Keep us posted, this problem drives me crazy. It was one of the options I wanted more than anything and I'm so disappointed with it.

Just ordered one Redline -- haven't had a lot of time to deal with the car recently except driving it.

I picked it up from here:

Will get it installed later this week when it shows..

Cheers,
