i have a 05 coupe and want bass. i want a sloted ported box so i can get that low bass. ne-1 have nething or ne idea what to do?

 

1 or 2 w7's will blow away any subwoofers.. but very expensive.. rockford subs are good subs.. and alot cheaper..

You should serach for a guy on here that sells a custom box that will fit 10 subs that won't take up that much space in your car...I forgot his screen name...

 

If you want LOW bas, ported probably isn't your best choice. Sealed will usually hit a bit lower, but at the cost of spl and space. You could always go with a elemental designs 16ov.2 or 19ov.2. Probably take up your whole trunk but it will hit deep. Without more specific goals, it hard to give your a good recommendation. We need to know:
-How much space you are willing to give up
-custom fiberglass box or prebuilt
-how many subs
-budget including amplifiers, wiring etc
-define "low"

 

I have a new 10w7 box that fits in the left side; similar to the 4080 design but with the proper displacement to house this sub. Drop me a pm if intrested.

 

dubs, is the box for a coupe, if so is it 1.25cu ft after speaker displacement?

the 4080 box wont fit a 10w7, so im looking for alternatives.

2 12w7's with a kilowatt each RMS.

Couple with some Dynaudio 360 components and it will give you a migraine headache inside of five minutes.

Watch out for noise pollution tickets..........don't ask how I know.

Kiss your trunk space goodbye, and also keep in mind that it adds several hundred pounds of weight. Each W7 weighs 50 lbs. by itself.......

A beefed up alternator and some caps/possibly a second battery for long term engine off running are also recommended.

Definitely go sealed box. You get the cleanest sound and at this bass level you won't notice the slightly less volume.

Extra vibration damping and sound deadening is almost a must for the cleanest sound, and also not to rattle things loose.

Worth it? Goddamn right.

i had a slot ported box for 1 12 and i love the bass i had. i had a 2000 watt 1000 rms audiobahn amp and the sub could handle 1200 rms. i dont mind using up my truck but i would like to keep my spare and only go with 1 sub.

 

Get a MTX Jackhammer and your done....
