How to remove lower dash

does anybody have the steps to remove the lower dash in order to get to the wires supplying power to the cig lighter on the driver's side?

At least I am assuming you need to remove the lower dash and side of the console. thanks, ted

Re: How to remove lower dash

Well, there is a screw on the bottom left corner that is near the brake release(if you have auto). Once thats out, just put the panel from the left out first. THen you would have to disconnect the hose. I haven't figured out how to disconnect the parking brake because i think its going to be a pain to fit it back on.

THen for the CIg lighter area, ther are two screws to that. One below the steering wheel(from steering wheel look SE). THen there is one deep left of the cig light plate. ONce you got that, pull it off! There you go! Hope this helps!

If not, MSG me!

Re: How to remove lower dash

It was easier to just pop out the cig lighter from it's bezel and then slip a small screwdriver to release it from the slot on the left side of the hole.

Disconnected the small 2-wire harness that feeds the lighted bezel of the cig lighter. Cut, slid on the heat shrink, spliced, soldered - then fed wires thru the cig hole, down and under the dash.

Pushed the cig lighter harness back on, and then popped the whole cig lighter back in.

now I have a red and black wire under the dash providing switched power!
