damn should have read this post before i went to a radio shop today...
ive been havin this problem for a couple of months now but it would just come and go....
lately its been every time i turn on my car and sucks being a nice cooool day and havin my gas waste on AC that i dont want on...
but yea i heard the same things about what could be wrong...
this shop took my radio out yesterday and im getting it repaired...
if repairs are under $150 shop does it right away if its more then ima buy a aftermarket navi cause its about the same as a brand new stock radio $700-$900...

I've got an 03 coupe and the same thing happened to me on my way to work this morning. I normally drive with windows down and the A/C off. Then all of a sudden I noticed the A/C was on at 60 and the lights for the A/C and radio were out. I got to work and turned the car off and then back on. No luck. I tried banging on the right side of the center console where the radio is at. It briefly fixed the problem then came back in 5 seconds. What is going to be my cheapest fix?

Well it depends where your at...
im in maryland and a new factory radio is $700, and im not gonna pay that much for fatory....
so i found a place where they fix radios its only gonna be 150 if it can be fixed if not then ima have to get a aftermarket navi cause its just as much a factory radio...
cause the usual cause of this problem is the radio...

I kno exactly how to fix your problem!!! I me and my brother in law found the solution by accident!!! Il take a pic if need be. So we were taking the radio out to install my pxamg ipod kit in by g35 coupe 2005. When we put the radio back in I had the same problem as you. Naturally I freaked out. But my brother in law who is a genius found out that this little thing thats VERY VERY VERRRRY senstive when moved easily falls out of place turns off the WHOLE radio and ac controls and the ac goes crazy sometimes. So you can try punching the RIGHT BOTTOM side of your radio or if you really want take the whole radio out and look at the bottom right side of it and youll see this little thing that if you wiggle it a little it should go back the way its supposed too. It then fixes everything and BAM! u save 1000 dollars cuz the dealerships stupid and "didnt know" about this tiny little thing that when moved a tiny bit makes your radio and ac go haywire. Hope this helps everyone. If possible please make this a sticky so no one else makes the mistake of paying a lot of money to fix a relatively small issue to fix.

NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! DONT GO TO THE DEALERHSIP THAT IS NOT THE ONLY SOLUTION WHOEVER THINKS THAT IS DUMB! sorry! but i hate it when people say thats the only solution when its not! like i said before when you take the headunit out and stick your hand under it on the bottom right side and wiggle this little thing ( i dont know what its called) it makes everything work again. I heard it pops out frequently sometimes. the dealership charges you a ****load because all they do is replace it or do other unnecessary work. I was about to go to the dealership when i stumbled upon that little fix when i took the radio out. Just stick you hand under there and wiggle stuff haha. and to be on the safe side you can unplug the battery but even if you do get shocked somehow you wont die youl just get a little shocked thats all

my radio was acting crazy like everyone else but it was just one time. i turned the car off & wait about 15 minutes, turn it back on & all is fine for now.

read through the thread. have a question though.

what does the circuit board look like? is it part of the radio? circuit board problem sounds so frightening to me.

hope the circuit board is part of the radio.

This problem really sucks ... I tried once and I removed the entire ac/radio panel.. I un plugged all the harness connecting to the radio and ac controls then it worked fine. then after 2 mos. again the same problem.. ac full blowing at 63 fahrenheit until it temp goes down due to auto mode once the temp is already cold inside read by the sensors. radio is only working using the controls in the steering wheel.

Im located here in the Middle East and planning to work here for many more years and I love my G... however this problem annoys me everytime now since temperature here is rising upcoming summer.. the ac will blow really hard and Im afraid it might damag the engine. anyone who knows if there is some impact on the car's engine?performance?Im really worried since the idle is going up once started due to the ac. The gas per liter here is not a problem since the gas is cheap here compared to other countries, I mentioned this since some noticed that gas consumption is high whenever you start the car at automatic full ac on and cant be controlled.

Anyways my car is 03 G35 coupe US spec. thanks. looking forward to see your post on this thread.

you need to replace your cd changer/radio. had the same problem, thought it was the faceplate but it is the cd changer/radio.

Yeah, pick up a used radio in the marketplace or get a dd conversion.

DOMO Finally!!!!!!!!!! problem solved... I went to a car audio repair shop specially for Clarion.. they replaced a chip in the radio and now working fine. Almost all of the G owners that said that its Radio, they were right. The ac controls are connected to the radio. They gave me 3 mos. warranty.

Thats for now folks Im so happy

For those who needs suggestion the radio needs to be repaired or replaced.
Changing also to DD is an option if you have deep pockets.
