Sound deadening stuff

So I'm in the process of putting in my sound system with lotsa toys and I decided to forgo the dynamat and any other mat clone and went with this gooey poo instead. I took pictures of the first coat and already laid down a second. . .it seems to make the metal panels have a dull "thud" when tapped. Has anyone else used it?

you should fill the cavities in the trunk with expanding foam also, helps with the rigidity and deadening

I have a question about the foam. Does the foam expire? Do you have to replace it in the future?

I think the foam he's talking about is something like this? I think since it's a sealant foam, it doesn't ever "expire." It'd probably last longer than the car. I'll have to get some more of this stuff. It's STICK as H3LL! Don't get it on your fingers! (Or in your hair!)

@izmir41500: I'm using a gallon. 2 layers down in the rear seat area and trunk and I'm almost half way down into the gallon. No, I'm not part of tbp. What's tbp?

^^ That foam will not expire. It will definately last longer than the car. It is used to weatherize homes in all the crevises such as around windows etc
