Help with RCA inputs with PXNI interface?
Help with RCA inputs with PXNI interface?
I have a non-Ipod mp3 player that I want to hook into the oem base headunit for my 2005 sedan which should be SAT ready using an interface sort of like the one everyone is using for the Ipod. I removed all trim and the headunit, plugged up everything as directed, but can't get the SAT1 or 2 to recognize any signal. Calls to the manufacturer are no help- said it must be defective, so I exchanged it and still get no signal with second unit. I know I must be doing something wrong, but can't figure where I go wrong. I think it is just like the Ipod install except the Mp3 uses a Y to RCA cable sending the signal out the headphone output, splitting it and into the unit via RCA hookup.
Any suggestions are appreciated. links and pics below:
Here is the web link to instructions for the interface http://www.discountcarstereo.com/pdf/pxni.pdf
And here is the link to what I bought

Here is the player with Y-adapter

Here is the interface

This is the interface connections- 12 and 10 pin female side accepts like males from rear of radio and the other 2 are plugged into the radio in their places.

The interface's switch is set to non-SAT

The headunit is installed again and tested, but all I get is the SAT message to call an 800 number to set up SAT service. I checked all wires again, both RCA inputs, checked all SAT channels and switching it to "with SAT"
with no change. What am I missing ( besides the need to switch to an Ipod like the rest of the world has)?
