DIY: Custom Suede Trunk Install/Setup *NOT 56K Friendly*
Well, last Saturday my brother and I were looking at my car wondering what we could do next. So, in anticipation of my new Double Din and HU coming in later this week, I decided to revamp my trunk setup.
This is the first time we did this and we surprised our selves with how well we did.
All work done on Saturday, will finish on Friday Evening and Re-Post finished Pictures.
1) Gut the trunk - Remove everything, yes your spare, Bose amp, and plastic.
(sorry didn't take a picture of this.)
2) Create a base floor. Cut one board to hold your AMPS and CAP and another to be the "rear" part of the floor. Cut blocks out of a 2X4 and use the 2" side as feet.

3) Trace the Trunk Carpet and cut off the "Wings" (not pictured but where the "wings" were cut off nail a little hinge on each side to support the "Wings")

4) Using the 2X4 again, cut feet off for the "Upper Floor." This time use the 4" side of the bock (long ways)

5) Measure and Cut the Hole of your Amps

6) Test Fit everything.

7) Using very strong fabric glue (from fabric store, made for upholstery), start from center and spray glue on wood and fabric. Once center is dry, make your way out, but dont over apply or the glue will come through the fabric.

8) Test Fit everything again

Still have to finish the Box (gonna wrap it in Gray, and put a black finish plate to cover the gaps) and install Plexiglas, lights, adjustments and wiring. Hope this may help anyone trying to make a custom low budget enclosure. Any input would also be appreciated.

Need to do the sides too. The colors don't look good together.
More pics of the finished product later this week!
