Says power output of the inverter is 160 watts of continuous power and 300 watts peak power output, couldn't find any specs on power requirements in watts on Porter Cable or UDM but it PC draws 4 A at 120 V so my guess would be P = V x I = 120 x 4 = 480 W? Not positive on that though lol

Yep, at least a 500w invertor would be necessary, and possibly a 750w for the UDM. Automotive batteries are not meant to be discharged any significant amount without substantially shortening their lifetime. A did some rough calculations a while back, and you can probably only safely run the PC using the invertor for ~30 mins on a normal battery. A better option may be to purchase a dedicated deep cycle battery or two and wall charger, and build a cart for the battery to haul down for detailing, then recharge it with the wall charger in your home when needed

redlude, thanks for the tips.

What if i used the inverter with the car running? Or does the 30 minutes you mentioned take that into account?

You could use it with the car running, but if you are talking about 2-3 hours of constant running, that is quite a waste of gas
