yes, i checked for condensation. i did not; however, account for the condescendtion in the replies! sorry, i couldn't resist. it happens even if i bring a cd from inside my house. i checked all existing discs for moisture. these are all discs taht do not normally skip btw...

A lot of my cd players have done this in the past. In my opinion it's not the cd's that are building up condensation, it's the lens that reads the cd's that builds up condensation.

so i called the dealer and they said all the can do is put a different factory reconditioned stereo in the car. i asked if that would fix the problem and the service guy stated he didn't know. should i bother? opinions would be appreciated.

I've got the same problem with my 04.5 coupe. Funny thing is that this head unit is a replacement because the original blew out due to another common problem. I'm past warranty so I won't be replacing it, especially when you consider my G is for sale. It just sucks trying to sell it this way, I have to be honest to people buying it.

I'd say if it is under warranty, go and get it replaced.
