Quote: best sub for you would be a w6. you will not be upset you got it. They are sooooo clean sounding and damn they hit hard!!!!
+1. Go with ED if you want better SQ but go with W6 if you want more SPL. The W6 is more than double the price of ED though.

At the same power level this is true, but with the extra money you would save on the ED sub, you could double your power supplied to the sub and put out more SPL than the w6. The cost of a w6 is almost 3 times the cost of a comparable ED sub.

I got my W6 from a JL dealer for only $300. So it was a relatively good deal for me. That's only twice as much as ED.

I was just basing it on MSRP. $420 on a single 10" w6? I'll pass

Yea for $420 I probably would have not gone with the w6.

I have a BNIB 10w6v2 for $225 if anyone is interested! No shipping SoCaL only (5/605fwy area)!

I would personally go with a 10w6v2 or a Image Dynamics IDQ10v2. I think the IDQ10v3 is out but I have never heard it.

As for a 10w6v2, SQ wise, it is on par with any sub in that price range! Just remember proper sized enclosure (4080 does the job), and a good quality 300-500 watt amp (Zapco, JL, alpine PDx, etc) and you wont regret it.

I've listened to many subs and love the w6v2! Actually preferred the earlier w6 but that is another story.

(as for why I am selling my sub, it is a spare, I cannot use two with my Zapco 750.2!)

Well I took the plunge and got the JL 10w6v2 sub from ebay. $270 shipped! I hope my Reference 500sx amp can power it ok. It claims to be able to do 500 watts at 2 ohms and is 1 ohm stable.

What about the 4080 box and the sub, do I need to add POLYFILL or just install it?
