When you say "behind the clock" does that mean "hidden" under the plastic trim piece surrounding the clock? Or behind the clock on top of the front dash up by the windshield.

Thanks!

Under the dash in the OEM location, which is behind the clock toward the front of the car. It is completely hidden. I had to make a metal "L" bracket to hold the antenna, but it was simple.

Hey Sean,

Can you take a pic of the L bracket with antenna as they sit under your OEM clock? I think I'm going to put my GPS antenna up there for sure...

Thanks!

I don't have a pic and it's behind the clock, so I don't want to take the dash and all apart. Once you get the clock out, you'll see there the OEM bracket screws on. I used a piece of stip steel from Lowe's or Home Depot and bent it to fit. You'll figure it out.

You may be able to get the OEM bracket from the dealer. I wouldn't think it would cost much.

Ok, fair enough, so you mounted it to one of the two screws that holds the clock in position. I'm quite familiar with those screws, as I've had my head unit out at least a dozen times. I was just wondering what kind of metal you purchased and how it was held in place...

Thanks... I'll check into the OEM mount.

Just keeping you guys informed. I checked with Tony@RiversideInfiniti and the GPS antenna bracket ONLY comes with the antenna itself. It's not aold as a separate part/SKU. The GPS antenna with bracket is like $160 shipped. Seems a bit much for a tiny little bracket.

So I went to Lowe's and bought a $5 piece of aluminum drywall frame. Now I have tons of malleable metal to cut/play with until I get a piece that fits this application just right.

Thanks, Gilley.

That is way too much to pay for an antenna and bracket.

If you use steel to make your bracket, the antenna will stick to it with the magnet alone.

Good call, aluminum will not work. Oh well, $6 down the drain... I went there and actually originally asked for strip steel. At least three employees got on their walkie talkies and no one knew where to find it. In which department did you find yours?

It's probably different for each store. You may need to go to a hardware store.

If pulling the clock surround wasn't so difficult, I'd do that and take a picture of my mount for you. As shown in the attached illustration, you just have to make a 90 degree bend, drill a hole for the tab, a hole for the screw, and round the corners.

Good. Once I saw the drawing, I remembered what I did with mine.
