What double din should I go with?

I'll start off this thread like any other I've ever started, with the simple words: I searched! Actually I did find a number of threads similar, but they just didn't answer the question I have in mind. Most likely because it's more of a personal question.

If I had the money I would probably just go with a Pioneer AVIC-Z2...but since I don't have the money, I'm not going with that one lol. I'm looking at three different systems right now...

Pioneer AVIC-D3, Kenwood DNX7120, Eclipse AVN6620. I've found all of them for around the same price, but I wondering if any of you personally have them. I can only spend in the range of $1,000. The things that are most important to me is the navigation actually working right, and iPod integration. As of right now, I'm leaning toward the Kenwood cause it has Garmin navigation.

Thanks for any advice you have.
Matt

hey Fish

Does the d3 come with a factory Mic?
And when you want to watch dvds the navi DVD should come out right?

And lastly do you have a dual climate option on your car, if you do it looks like you got the single ac controller, how do you like that one?

I have a D3X (D3 with BT, iPod integration) that I got installed last month and I like it a lot. For what you pay, it's a great deal. There's a $200 mail in rebate going on until the end of May that'll drop the prices to under $800 easily.

In June Pioneer is releasing a new nav system, and I wouldn't be surprised if the price drops even more by then.

I just bought the AVIC-D3 and mine also has bluetooth and iPod integration. In fact, I got it all for $700 at best buy believe it or not. I can't wait to install it.

Thanks for the help

$700 at Best Buy, eh? Is it on sale? Did you buy it in-store or online?

$700 is about right with the bundle. I paid $527 for the HU shipped from Al&Eds Auto Sound in CA. I bought the bluetooth module and Ipod cable on Ebay and the total was at $650.

I see the D3 on the BB website for $699.99, but that appears to be just for the HU itself.

For those considering an Avic unit, check out the AVIC411.com forum. They have a lot of info but just like here you have to search. Not sure I would have paid $700 for the D3 but at $500 it was a great deal.
