GPS antenna mounting? Where is the factory antenna?

I recently bought a G35.
I have A Kenwood DNX8120 I want to put in. I have all the stuff to install the unit.

Where is a good place to mount the GPS antenna? Any ideas on the location of the facotry GPS antenna (for those who do have factory nav)

Also, any ideas on the location of the reverse wire?

I second that.

I will be curious as to where the reverse / speed sense wires can be found as well...

It's behind the clock/temp display finisher piece. See attached pic from the FSM.

I mounted my external GPS antenan in the stock location. You'll have to take some silicon glue or something and attach it to the plastic part of the dash. It'll be easily removable but will stay in place. That bracket you see is not actually there if you don't have the stock nav, but you might be able to fabricate one. I didn't have the tools or time to do anything like that so i just glued it in.

The fitment can be pretty tight. Just make sure the wires tuck neatly inder the unit.

I had to make sure that all of the wiring sat under the radio for it to properly fit. Otherwise you could end up pinching wires against the back of the radio and the dash wall.

The speed wire I pulled from behind the radio. I think it was a green/white wire. What year is the car?

I never hooked up the reverse wire.

I moved my Kenwood GPS antenna from under the rear window to the factory location and the reception is so much better. I made a bracket out of a flat piece of metal that I bent and screwed into place.

Mine's an 04, aside from driving the car with a disassembled dash holding a multimeter to random wires, is there any way to know for sure?

I'd think they've gotta list that sort of thing somewhere.

Reverse wire will be important, I'd like to do a backup camera with the Z1. I just keep finding more crap to buy for this *($# install.

Apologies for the thread hijack. I will give it back eventually.
