C'mon, there are so many more people with 4080 boxes. List up what sub/s you've installed now/previously whether it worked or not.

Quote: Well my 10" IDQ v.3 came in today, and got it installed. It's a very tight fit, so it will be a b*tch if I ever want to get it out. Grille fits too.
Is the v2 much different than the v3?
Just curious what part was a tight fit and whether this is driver's side or passenger's side.

The V3 is completely redesigned, and is much much better than the V2 in terms of output, efficiency, etc... I don't know the difference in terms of dimensions, although I do think the magnet/basket is larger?

I also made a box for the driver's side to add a second one because there is no driver side 4080 for the sedan.

12w6 or 12w6v2?

I'm gonna go with no, it won't fit, but even if it did, you would need about 3 times the airspace anyway.

Image Dynamics / IDMAX10 D2 v.3
needed to add 1.5" of MDF spacer rings to accommodate depth; 4080 grille is not usable without reglassing front of enclosure

I see what you did there-- I'll have to post up a pic of my IDQ 10 v3, I didn't use a spacer since the depth was OK, I just spent a couple hours with my crappy grinder trying not to ruin the box while making the cutout larger... for some reason the basket would rub...

but anyway, the grille fits on and that box is SEALED like a ****, added a little weatherstripping under the sub, there is 0 leakage. glass boxes are nice

hey i put a idmax 10d4 V3 in my 40080 (sedan)
i cut away a bit of the ring so the sub fit in, and added a 1/4" spacer for depth. granted i didnt have screws to screw all the holes in, it seemed to be making alot of noise. probably 2morrow im gonna pull the sub, put some weather stripping in, and try that. however, it made some like rattling noises, does anyone know about that? and i ran it for like 15 min, and came back and had a slight frying smell...

Quote: ok, thank you. so i guess im just gonna have to bite the bullet and buy it to see if it fits and if it doesnt then i guess im out some money? i emailed 4080 enclosures about a week ago and havent heard anything back.

looking at pictures, it looks very similar to the jl10w6v2 so i bet it will fit, i guess i could always get a spacer too
