Lots of great installs... I just can't get past the security issue of leaving $1000+ worth of radio exposed to thievin' scum. I bought a JVC AVX-820, but after seeing the insane delays in USB (even fast flash) (reindexing everytime a source is changed) and realizing how far I'd have to drill back the holes to make it flush (not even sure that's possible, the chassis is among the deepest of DDs), I gave up and threw it in our Pathfinder.

I had a higher end Pioneer in there. But bluetooth setup with more than one phone was wonky, so I swapped in the JVC. I immediately had noise issues on Sat Rad. I've rewired it a billion times, no way to get rid of the noise. The JVC unit is just fine, but the ground loop is on the AUX wire to the sat tuner, which is weak sauce anyway.

so anyway, long story short, the JVC is out for the G... and unless I can fab a fake cover, I dont want to leave a DD exposed like that. I do like to road trip in the G, leaves me parking at hotels in big cities. Seems like the nicer hotels have the jankiest parking. :/

It's funny you said that. I was thinking the other day "it would be nice if someone made a wood dash kit for aftermarket DD head units. That would be kinda hot!

Question: If I purchase a JDM Double Din kit without the AC controller, can I use my OEM AC control unit? I have an 06 Coupe, non-nav.

Here's Mine:
Pioneer AVH-p4200dvd
DVD Bypass
Sony Xplod sub+amp
Ipod kit in glove compartment(thinking of moving that since I have an iphone, very inconvenient)

Still working on it, need to get rid of that annoying gap at the bottom.
