Finally got mine installed after a few months of putting it off.

The Metra kit is not half as bad as some make it out to be. Non-G35 owners will never know the difference. The difference is barely even noticeable in any lighting less than direct sunlight and to the touch.

Sorry for the crappy picture, maybe one day I'll invest in a halfway decent camera.

Absolutely LOVE the Kenwood. The handsfree works GREAT. The GPS absolutely beats the socks of the tom-tom I had. The Ipod integration is seamless and its great to have sirius back.

Last thing I need to do is a sub. I was thinking about the 4080 box but realized that I have a hell of a time getting golf clubs in the trunk as is... I could only imagine the 4080 box making it impossible. Does anyone have experience with this? I might end up putting my old little MTX thunderlink sub in the space in the back of the trunk so I don't sacrifice any length. Might be a little less power than I'd like, but gotta be able to fit those golf clubs .

That is the JDM Double Din kit with the climate controls. Look up one of the sponsors at Riverside Infiniti here on the site. They have them in stock.

so are you not able to just get the JDM faceplate? You have to get the climate controls to?

Every single one of these have their DD screen sticking out by at least 1/2 a cm.. Anyone know if there is room to install it so that it is flush and no gap?

Shouldn't there be a frame included with these units to cover the gap around the screen?

If you drill your own holes, you can go anywhere from sticking out, to flush, to inset.

Ive never owned a Kenwood so im not familiar with quality / options / interface.

This is the unit Im looking at :
http://www.kenwoodusa.com/Car_Entert...igation/DDX814

Features I like :

* Custom illumination ( appears I can match it to OEM )
( in the videos ive seen it keeps changing i hope you can lock to 1 color )
* 5V Preouts
* Bluetooth Built IN
* iPhone Compat
* Screen Resolution ( WVGA )

If you have any info or comments I would greatly appreciate it. Ive been leaning towards the Alpine IVA-W505 but this above Kenwood has really got me interested.

I see alot of Kenwoods in this thread and they all seem to look super clean installed.

Do the Kenwoods perform pretty good? Any other alternatives Im not a big Pioneer fan and they
dont offer any DD Units with WVGA resolutions like Alpine & Kenwood.

Thanks in Advance,
