Hey Sayitfast,

Did you need a trim kit like the Scoche for your HU? I just ordered the exact same HU as you and need to know if I should go ahead and get a trim kit?

I did not need it... or at least my installer said he did not need anything. I'm really picky about my car as I think most of us are, and I think its in there pretty good.

Whipped these up for my DNX8120. I like to keep things classy and try to match the orange dash color on my 04 sedan.

Background

Loading Screen. The loading screens stretches a little so this is resized to look nice.

Changing loading screen on Kenwood DNX8120 (and others)

You need to add the convert program to your USB device.

Download convert

To enter setup Mode, Press and hold FNC & EJECT keys, then press RESET Key.
· Release reset key, and hold FNC & EJECT Key until illumination
activates.
· Connect the USB Thumb drive containing image file and convert program.
All files must be in the root directory.
· There is no extension on the convert program.
· If you want to change the opening image to your own image (i.e., company
logo), Press OEM Image.
· The OEM Image will be grayed out till files are seen on USB
device.
· If you want to put original KENWOOD opening back, press KENWOOD image.
· Select the image you want to use.
· When the image is loaded, select Enter Your new opening will remain for
few seconds and then switch to the Source Select menu via the SRC button.

Image Size

Loading Screen: Create image at JPEG 480x262 and then squish to 480x234

Background: JPEG 480x262

Pics below of my F90BT install.

Thanks to PeterUbers for the splash screen and info on making the unit flush as well as tips for filling the gap.
This was my first attempt at the gap I do plan on getting another one and making it fit a little better, but this works for now.

I was skeptical about the F90BT after reading many reviews. Overall I have to say I am very happy with it, yes it has a few things I would change but it is a great unit for the money and I have had no problems as of yet.

Installed:
F90BT
JDM Double Din (dual)
Steering wheel control
ipod adapter
Metra 7551
DVD bypass
sub & Amp
mic
Left Bose stock speakers & system sounds great.

MJION... SWEET! Thanks for the thanks -- you did a VERY nice job -- glad SOMEONE could use all that work i spent on the F90bt and put it to good use.

i'm glad the F90bt is working for you -- I really wish I had better luck with it. It looks really nice in the G's center console.

I think i spent more hours working in Adobe Photoshop customizing that startup screen than I spent in the garage putting that POS in my G (mine was a POS, yours isn't)
