Thanks!
i couldn’t find a silver jdm so I just went with the black - it had the cover to the cubby above the radio I needed too.
After looking through these threads a half dozen times each and talking to a few installers, trying to figure out what to get -
I got the pioneer mvh1400 - I liked that it has no buttons on the face, it’s all touchscreen and no cd or dvd. .
This is the closest I could find to something that looks stock.
I like the eq and the sound is very good overall - would definitely recommend.
I followed everyone’s advice and got the steering wheel control and back up cam and benefited greatly from all the experience shared here. I used a file to lower the mounting holes in the jdm kit and ran a usb to the inside of the cubby so I can plug the phone in, apple car play to the radio, and throw the phone in the cubby with no wires laying around in the car.
Thanks wrathernaught for the shopping list!

Here's mine. Glad I went with the JDM trim, looks so much better...and, dare I say, worth the price?! The head unit is nothing special but finally brings my car audio into into the 21st century. It might not show but I have a decent bit of gap around the edges. The trim piece that cam with the Kenwood, both of them, didn't even come close to fitting. It's nice and flush so I'm content for now and will figure out a trim later.

Just finished mine! 04 G35 Coupe with Bose. Used the JDM Double Din Kit, Kenwood 9707S, and couldn't be happier with how it turned out! I also did a backup camera but didn't take pictures of that.
Good fitment, Scosche trim ring filled the gap perfectly. Note the dual USB outlet in the right cig lighter, really cool way to have the stereo USB ports accessible.
Wireless Apple Carplay, I love it!

That's a clean install. Well done. Did you get the interface for the steering wheel controls too?
I'm trying to get my hands on a titanium/black JDM bezel. I hadn't been planning on getting a DD head unit, but it's looking like the bezels are becoming scarce so I figured I should pick one up just in case.

Thanks man! Yeah I used the Metra Axxess ASWC-1, but I think I got a faulty unit. Long story but it's getting replaced.
Good luck finding a JDM bezel, I searched everywhere and finally found one at Grubbs Infiniti. You can find the all black bezels pretty easily, but the titanium not so much.

I got mine from Nissan Race Shop. Just got to there site and search for it. Type in double din kit G35. It should pop up. Or just call and see if they have some in stock
