I must admit, I wish I read this before my purchase. I bought the metra when I first bought my car. over the weekend I installed it with the avh-p4300. ran into the issue with the navigation screen. well I got it all installed. I will also admit the finish is bad so I think I will be doing the JDM as well. But its better than the OEM look anyday.

I've got the sister unit (same system, different size screen). The voice control is great to have, and works well, the interface is pretty good, my only complaint is the actual navigation data (NAVTEQ). So many roads that have been there for years aren't updated, and many points of interest along long roads it just places them arbitrarily in the middle or on either end.

So the unit itself is 5/5 stars, but the navigation database on the unit is about 2/5. Based on this, I'd recommend a unit that uses a better navigation database, like a Kenwood (Garmin database) or JVC (Google Maps database) - if navigation is a major point you're looking for in the unit. However, if maps are just a bonus and you're looking for a top-tier unit with voice control of iPod, it's awesome.

Thanks. Also I'm about 5'11 do you feel the unit sits to low compared to the OEM unit?

JuiceDogg's JVC Double Din Install

Here is my install I went with the JDM kit and just shaved down my JVC trim ring to make the sides flush with the dash kit. I just need to get my sub box for the trunk which is already ordered. I will be posting more pics later. Thanks to Wrathernaut for all the help on his Double Din shopping list page.

So my problem is that I have a wood trim in my G and the JDM only comes in aluminum... I was wondering if anyone went and did this anyways? If they did how bad would or does or did it look? I assume aluminum with wood will look baddddd but I really really need a double din in there hahaha
